Introduction to Kinesiology-Lower Body is one of four required kinesiology courses in the
massage program at Lane. We explore and examine basic level kinesiology concepts,
principles and anatomical terminology as related to the attachments of muscles and muscle
movement. You will use terminology as related to structural kinesiology, master the
introductory foundations of kinesiology, identify joints, and locate skeletal and soft tissue
landmarks of the human body as related to the attachments of muscles. This course is a
foundation class in the massage program and cultivates a respectful, inclusive, and accessible
learning environment, while supporting creativity, experimentation, and personal
transformation.
