Below are important updates
- Orientation is on June 23 (via Zoom) at 6:00pm-7:00pm. The orientation will include an Anesthesia pre-test. The Zoom link will be provided by the instructors.
- Please make sure to submit all the required documents:
- EFDA Certificate (should be at least one year)
- Current BLS/CPR card
- Evidence of Employment in a Clinical Practice setting for at least one (1) year - You should have worked at least 1 year as EFDA. A written statement/letter by your employer on letterhead stating employment has been at least one year, will suffice.
- Evidence of professional liability insurance - If you do not have your own policy, you may provide your employer's liability insurance. It should be by the same employer who provided your employment certification/letter.
- Please submit all requirements to larax@lanecc.edu on or before June 18, 12:00pm. Only those with complete requirements will be allowed to continue in the program.
- Pick up of books will be on June 20, at the LCC Mary Spilde Downtown Center, Room 232. Look for Xavier. Address:101 W 10th Ave, Eugene, OR 97401. Kindly make sure to get your books on that day. You will need the book during the orientation.

This course will provide Expanded Function Dental Assistants the knowledge and skills to qualify for the
Local Anesthesia Function Certification for Oregon.
The student will understand/learn:
• Basic local anesthesia injection technique
• Neurophysiology
• Pharmacology of local anesthetics and vasoconstrictors
• Physical and psychological evaluation for patients receiving local anesthesia
• Medical considerations and management for local anesthesia in dentistry
• Mandibular injection techniques
• Maxillary injection techniques
• Supplemental techniques and future trends
• Local anesthesia legal considerations
Enrollment:
Minimum 5 students; maximum 10 students

Important Requirements:
Prior to beginning the course, students must provide a copy of each of the following:
