Get up to your elbows in flour to learn the basics of “artisan” breads. What are they, how can I make them, what ingredients do I need? Learn the answers to these questions and more in an intensive, all day, hands-on bread class--for beginners and experienced bakers. You’ll make them, bake them and take them home with you. You’ll also take home sourdough starter. Straight doughs, pre-ferments and starters will become part of your baking vocabulary. Bring an apron, a bench scraper and bowl scraper, if you have them, and an item to throw in the community soup pot, such as garden veggies, beans, rice or pasta. Wear closed-toe shoes for safety, bring a large bag to carry home your breads, and meet in the Center Building Cafeteria food court by the Titan Bookstore.
