« back to classes page
Requires the successful completion of APP 1, 2, and 3 and Massage 1, 2, and 3 or equivalent.
Anatomy, Physiology & Pathology 5 (APP 5) is the final course in the APP series. It covers digestive, urinary, reproductive and endocrine system pathways. Using a multi-disciplinary, integrated approach, which includes experiential anatomy, movement, mind-body therapies and self-care, massage therapy students will increase their own body awareness which will inform their work with clients. Successful completion of APP 1, 2, and 3 and Massage 1, 2, and 3 or equivalent.
The five courses in the APP series offer an integrative approach to establishing a strong foundation in anatomy, physiology, and pathology. By combining all three disciplines, students assimilate knowledge of structure, function, and dysfunction in a single learning environment. The application of these concepts to the practice of massage, as well as the effects of massage, are emphasized. Students also learn and use anatomical terminology, health and wellness concepts, and assessment tools. All APP courses share required textbooks and should be taken in succession.
