Kinesiology Upper Body is one of four required kinesiology courses in the massage program at Lane. Building upon Introduction to Kinesiology courses, this class presents intermediate level kinesiology concepts and principles, anatomy, and anatomical terminology as related to the attachments of muscles and muscle movement. Palpation as an exploratory learning tool follows content presentation.
The two intermediate Kinesiology courses (Upper and Lower Body), offer students a chance to expand their knowledge of key kinesiology principles. Origins, insertions, and movements of muscles are explored in more depth, complemented by videos of anatomical dissections and palpation. These courses share a required textbook, as well as a recommended textbook. Both Introduction to Kinesiology courses are prerequisites.
